Students admitted to our Graduate Program receive a fellowship package for the first year, consisting of fees and tuition (when necessary), plus a stipend. In the second and subsequent years, students pursue research assistantships in a laboratory in their chosen specialty area.

In addition, students are encouraged to apply for the various scholarships, grants and fellowships available from extramural sources. Information on these sources of funding is available from:

• the Biomedical Physics Graduate Office
• the American Association of Physicists in Medicine (AAPM)
  
  The AAPM bi-annually offers a two-year fellowship for graduate students. Eligibility requires that they place in the 700's in the Quantitative portion of the GRE, and in the 70th percentile or better in the Physics Subject Area examination, and have an undergraduate GPA greater than 3.5. If the applicant receives a fellowship from the AAPM, they must apply to a program that is accredited. UCLA is one such graduate program. • Graduate and Postdoctoral Extramural Support Database (GRAPES)

We also have Postdoctoral Traineeships available for those currently in Medical Physics, or for those seeking retraining in Medical Physics. These are available now. Because the funding source will primarily be an NCI Training Grant, postdoctoral trainees must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents.
